18-month update! (June 15, 2007)

Mark here... I spoke to Joe today. In response to "How's it going?", he said:

"Been fish'n a lot, work'n a lot,

got my life back - thanks to you and to Dr. Bertagnoli!"

I think that for the 18 month update, that will suffice!

Just a hello from a pain-free friend!

Hello Sir,

Mark, I just wanted to send you an e-mail to let you know that I haven't dropped off the face of the earth. I've been so insanely busy down here in Baton Rouge catching up on so many things that I had to put on hold since my surgery.

Although my definition of busy and yours may be a little different because I know your work ethic is so incredible, your drive, your passion for helping people, your mission!

I have had a very rapid recovery and I am feeling great! No pain, no meds.....incredible!

It almost feels like a dream, I don't want to wake up.

But seriously, I can't express to you enough my deepest appreciation and gratitude for all of your sincerity, direction, and wisdom that you have extended to me through such difficult times.

I will never forget laying in my bed in the hospital, being awakened by a soothing, comforting voice, opening my eyes, and there you were with Diane checking on me just liked you promised! Unforgettable!

So again, thank you so much Mark for allowing me to get my life back through your guidance and care after wondering for almost nine years if this day would ever come.

Best Regards,

Joe K

P.S. On February 6th, I had my first cervical post-op x-rays, they were sent to ProSpine for an interpretation and everything looks great! I hope you and your family are doing well. Take care.
